What is the Contact Law service?
Contact Law recommends the most appropriate local solicitor for individuals and businesses. We are an independent organisation that considers all appropriate law firms to find a good value solicitor who is local to where you live and has specialist expertise relating to your issue. We get personally involved with each customer enquiry to make sure you get the right solicitor, saving you a significant amount of time and money.
How are the solicitors quality-assured?
Although we have hundreds of partner law firms to pick from, all of them are on a service level agreement with us. This ensures you receive a fast and efficient service. Furthermore, we only recommend specialists for each individual case, so you can be assured that you will be contacted by a solicitor that specialises in their chosen field and has the expertise that you need.
Is there a charge for using Contact Law's service?
No, the service is free of charge for consumers. Contact Law is paid a referral fee by law firms for successful client introductions. This referral fee will not be added to your legal fees and your solicitor will make this clear.
When can I expect a response?
If you call our 0800 number, you will immediately be transferred to an appropriate advisor. If you complete our website form, one of our advisors will call you within 30 minutes. Following the initial discussion, a recommended solicitor will call you within a few hours to discuss your case and how they can help. We will follow-up with you later in the day to confirm that you are happy with the solicitor and to provide any further assistance required.
Is there any obligation to use a solicitor who contacts me?
There is no obligation to use the solicitor(s) that we put you in contact with.
How much will the solicitor who contacts me charge?
When the solicitor calls you to discuss your case, they will also provide a fee quote. Solicitors usually charge on an hourly or fixed fee basis. However, in some cases a solicitor will work on a conditional or contingency fee basis, more commonly known as a ‘no win no fee’ arrangement. You and the solicitor should discuss the fee structure in your initial discussion or meeting.
Can Contact Law give me advice about my case?
We cannot give legal advice on your specific case. We can however advise you on what the legal process is, what the legal fees are likely to be, and what your solicitor options are.
